Loxo AI Chat brings the power of an expert data analyst directly into your daily workflow. Instead of clicking through dozens of browser tabs or digging through six-month-old records to piece together a history, recruiters can simply ask about candidates, pipelines, clients or deals and get cited, verifiable answers in seconds - right inside Loxo.
It eliminates the friction of leaving the platform to use external AI tools, providing an out-of-the-box solution that requires zero setup, zero training and no extra subscription. By anchoring AI directly within your database, Loxo AI Chat ensures that institutional knowledge belongs to the firm rather than individual memory, driving repeatable quality and total administrative visibility across every seat from day one.
Choose Your Model
Loxo AI Chat includes a model picker that lets users switch between the latest versions of Claude, Gemini, Grok, and ChatGPT directly inside the platform. Because the integration is natively built into Loxo, your firm doesn't need to set up external accounts, manage separate subscriptions, or have individual recruiters log into these different AI providers. Everything works out of the box using your existing Loxo credentials.
Write Your Prompt
You don't need to learn complex prompt engineering or figure out technical search strings to get what you need. Just ask questions in plain English based on specific activities, jobs, people, etc. - like "Summarize my calls with Bruce Wayne over the last month" or "Show me all candidates who moved to the 'Interview Scheduled' stage this week for the DevOps role." Loxo AI Chat interprets your natural language and searches your database history to pull the exact updates you need instantly.
Additionally, if you wish to provide simplified direction within the prompt, utilize an @ mention for specific jobs, companies, people, pitches or deals.
Get Results
Loxo AI Chat delivers responses in structured, easy-to-read formats so you can scan the information quickly. Beyond just pulling the raw data, it provides helpful summaries, broader context and relevant caveats, giving you the full story behind the records.
Credit Usage
Running a search uses Loxo Credits. The cost adjusts automatically based on the specific AI model you select and the complexity of the information you're asking it to find.
If you expend all of your Loxo Credits, you will see "You're out of Loxo AI Chat credits." These are the same as your Loxo Credits. If you need to purchase additional credits, click the Add credits link to purchase the bundle size of your choice.
To track your credit usage, navigate to Settings > Loxo Credits at the bottom of the page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What information does Loxo AI Chat have access to?
A. The chat assistant reads across the same broad dataset as our public REST API. It can retrieve information regarding:
People: Candidates and contacts, including email/phone details, social profiles, work/education history, activities, notes, and lists.
Companies: Addresses, associated contacts, and company hierarchies.
Jobs & Pipelines: Job details, pipeline stages, deals, placements, scorecards, and forms.
Outreach: Campaigns and outreach activities.
Loxo Source: The global directory and related reference/lookup data.
Q. Is there anything explicitly excluded from the chat assistant?
A. Yes. File downloads (such as raw résumés or uploaded documents) are intentionally not exposed to the chat agent.
Q. Can the assistant see data I am not supposed to access?
A . No. The assistant operates strictly under your existing user permissions and is securely scoped to your agency. It only ever sees what you are authorized to see in the standard Loxo application.
Q. Can the assistant perform actions for me, or is it read-only?
A. At launch, Loxo AI Chat is entirely read-only. It is designed to retrieve information and answer your questions; it cannot create, delete, or modify any data within your database.
Q. When web search is turned on, how do I know what is internal data vs. what is from the web?
A. Web results are clearly separated and labeled distinctly from your internal data. The assistant will display independent "web source" chips that link out to the internet, keeping them entirely isolated from your "in your database" or "Loxo Source" citations and counts.
Q. Is privacy and security better inside the app compared to using the external MCP connector?
A. Both methods use the same secure data boundary, going through the same API with identical per-user permissions and agency isolation. However, the in-app chat assistant adds extra guardrails on top: it strictly treats record content as data (preventing malicious prompt-injection attacks) and will never send candidate details to a web search unless you explicitly tell it to do so.
Q. How much does it cost to use each AI model?
A. Think of it like a utility bill - you only pay for what you actually use. Every time you ask a question, the credit cost depends on two things: how long your question and the answer are, and which AI model you chose to use. Advanced models cost a bit more to run than simpler ones, so your credit usage adjusts automatically based on the specific model you pick for that conversation and the depth at which the AI needs to process.
