A lot of recruiters want to be able to track where their candidates are coming from and which sources lead to the highest placement rates. If you manually share jobs with different job boards, you can set up an automatic source code to track these candidates through your pipeline and report on that source data.
This article explains source codes and how to use them with Loxo job postings.
Using Source Codes
A source code is a small bit of code added to the end of a URL, and in this case, it will inform Loxo about where an applicant is applying from.
When you post a job, Loxo creates a unique URL for that job, and the source code will be unique for each different job board. By applying the unique source code to the unique job link, you can easily track where an applicant found your posting. To do so:
Create a public job post link for your job by enabling Job Board Publishing.
Add the code below to the end of the URL to set up a unique identifier for each job board.*
βTo set this up, you will want to add:
?source_type=
After the = sign, you will need to manually add the appropriate key for that particular source, from the table of commonly used source codes below.
For example, if you wanted to post on Indeed, you would add this to the end of your job posting URL.
?source_type=indeed
If you create your own manual sources or would like a key that is not listed in the table below, reach out to Loxo Support to ensure it is set up correctly.
NOTE: If your link is using more than one URL parameter, replace subsequent "?" characters with an "&" symbol instead.
wrong | ?t=1723572608281?source_type=Indeed |
right | ?t=1723572608281&source_type=Indeed |

Creating Additional Sources in Loxo
If you are looking to more specifically document where a candidate or contact came from, you have the flexibility to create additional Sources in Loxo. Since these will not be built-in Sources, they will need to be manually applied to profiles. However, they are a great filter and search tool within your database.
To create additional Sources in Loxo:
Navigate to your Settings page
Scroll down to Sources
Click the +Add button at the top right of the page
Name the Source
Toggle to On so it is visible/applicable
Click Save
You now have a new Source! If you require a Source Code for this new Source, to use with the Resume Forwarding Address or to apply to your job postings, please reach out to Support so we can provide it for you!
