Loxo Scorecards gives you full control over how you and your team, as well as your hiring managers and clients, can assess and rate your candidates. You can set up job-specific scorecards so you are rating candidates against categories that are necessary for the role, and you can use scorecards to provide a general overview that could be relevant across all opportunities.
This article walks through how to create and access our new Scorecards.
Creating Scorecards
To create unique and custom scorecards, navigate to your Settings page and select Scorecards, located under the "Organization" Section.
2. Click on the +Add button in the upper right corner.
3. This will open a new Scorecard window where you can:
Name the scorecard to reflect the specific role, traits, or skillset(s) your candidates will be rated based on.
Create unlimited options for attributes, skills, or traits, which your candidates will be rated based on. Note, you must have at least one attribute.
Note: You must click the X for any attributes that are left blank before you will be able to save the Scorecard.
Scorecards for Recruiters
Using Scorecards specific to a job or interview process
To add a scorecard directly to a job, whether it is job-specific or specific to the general interview process, please follow the steps below:
When creating or editing a job, you will find the Scorecards option under the Customize Workflow section. Click the blue plus sign to add a Scorecard.
βSelect the appropriate Scorecard for the job or interview process by clicking the blue + button on the Scorecard option.
βOnce selected, you should see the Scorecard and its attributes listed in the Job's Settings. Be sure to hit "Save"!
Once the Scorecard has been linked to the job, recruiters can fill these out for their candidates by pulling up the candidate profiles from within the Job Pipeline. Note: the candidate's profile must be accessed from within the Job Pipeline in order to fill out the Scorecard that is linked to that specific role.
Clicking the blue + icon will open the Scorecard for the recruiter to fill out. Attributes are rated using a 5-Star system, and each attribute can have specific notes added if needed.
Once complete, the scorecard will live within the Scorecards section of the candidate's profile:
Scorecards will also be visible for clients within the Portal, depending on your "Scorecard feedback visibility" choice under Settings > Job Share Permissions. The Portal settings in Loxo allow users to control the visibility of scorecards and feedback. For example, enabling the 'Hide hiring manager scorecards until they submit their scorecard' option ensures that interviewers provide unbiased feedback before viewing others' input. Alternatively, the 'Always show hiring manager scorecards' option allows hiring managers to view all scorecards without submitting their own feedback first. These settings are particularly useful in scenarios like panel interviews or collaborative hiring processes.
Using Scorecards for General Intake
If you wish to score a candidate outside of a job, or if you do not utilize the Scorecard option when creating a job, you can still utilize Scorecards. Accessing a person's profile from your People Page will also open up a General Intake Scorecard. To do so, follow the steps below:
Within a candidate profile, you can select Scorecards at any time:
βFrom here, you can give an overall recommendation and summary of your grading:

Scorecards for Clients
For clients to access and complete Scorecards, a Scorecard must be attached to the job and the candidate must be shared through the Portal or using the Formal Submission process.
Once a client receives the share link, your clients will have the option to either "Add comment" or "Add scorecard."
If they select to "Add comment," they will have the option to select Yes, No, or Maybe, as well as leave specific feedback on that candidate.
When utilizing the No, Maybe, or Yes buttons, you have control over a candidate's movement in your workflow based on the hiring manager's feedback. If you would like hiring manager feedback from comments to move candidates to a particular stage, you can adjust the Progression Triggers for "Hiring manager commented" events so they are mapped to the appropriate stages in your Job Pipelines.
If your clients select "Add scorecard," the Scorecard will open on the right-hand side, similar to the way it does for recruiters in Loxo, and they will be able to rate each attribute and leave notes as needed.
*Reminder: Scorecards will only be available to clients if the Scorecard is attached to the job and the candidate has been shared using the Portal or the Formal Submission process.

Scorecard FAQs (click to expand)
Q. What happened to my old Assessments after we transitioned to Scorecards?
Scorecards are backwards compatible so any previous Assessments will be reformatted into Scorecards, but will retain the overall scoring, as well as any notes that were left.
Q. Is there a notification when a Scorecard has been completed?
Yes, anyone included as the job owner and the candidate owner, if different, will be emailed a notification that a new Scorecard has been submitted.
Q. Can I use a Scorecard for general intake?
While we still recommend the Intake Notes feature for this purpose, you can complete a generic Scorecard on a candidate profile at any time. However, you will only be able to give an overall recommendation and leave a text summary. You will not be able to rate or score specific attributes.
Q. Where can I create a new Scorecard?
You can create and edit your current list of Scorecards within your Settings dashboard. Scorecards will be found in the Organization section of your Settings.
Q. Where do I go to delete a scorecard?
Navigate to Settings > Scorecards to delete a Scorecard.
Q. How many attributes am I able to add to a Scorecard?
As many as necessary! The only limitation is that you need to have a minimum of one.
Q. I'm having trouble saving a Scorecard, any advice?
Each attribute can only have a maximum of 64 characters. Make sure none of your attributes have exceeded this limit.
Attributes cannot be left blank. Use the X on the right to remove any unused attributes before saving.
Make sure you have entered a Scorecard name before saving.
Q. Can I change the order in which attributes are listed after creating a Scorecard?
Yes, you can reorder the different attributes using the Drag & Drop icon to the left of each attribute.
Q. I changed a Scorecard in my Settings. Why did this not change the Scorecard linked to a Job?
Think of the Scorecards in your Settings as "Templates." Once linked to a Job, any changes made under Settings > Scorecards will not be reflected in the Job's Scorecard. Conversely, making edits to a Scorecard linked to a Job will not change the original Scorecard template under Settings.
