The Pitches tab in Loxo's Sales CRM tracks talent-led business development — marketing your Most Placeable Candidates (MPCs) or spec CVs to clients before a formal requirement exists. Every time you pitch a candidate to a contact, a Pitch record is created automatically, giving you a dedicated pipeline to track progression from first send through to placement.
What is a Pitch?
A Pitch represents a candidate being marketed to a specific client contact. It sits in the Sales CRM alongside Deals and Prospects as the talent-led column of your BD funnel.
The Default Pitch Pipeline
Pitches run on a dedicated pitch pipeline with the following default stages:
Pitched — The candidate has been sent to the client contact.
Following Up — Active follow-up is underway; waiting for a response or next step.
Successful — The client wants to engage with the candidate (final/won stage).
Unsuccessful — The pitch did not convert (final/lost stage).
You can customize stage names and add additional stages to match your agency's workflow.
Pitch a Candidate
Loxo creates a Pitch record automatically whenever you complete the pitch candidate process. You can initiate a pitch from two places:
From a candidate's profile
Open the candidate's profile.
Click the Share button on the profile.
Select Pitch candidate. Loxo generates a branded resume (MPC/Spec CV) including your agency name and logo.
Select contacts to pitch to, customize what is shared, and choose to send by email or mark as pitched manually.
Complete the pitch — a Pitch record is created automatically in your default pitch pipeline.
From the People pipeline
In the People pipeline, select one or more candidates (click their picture/initials in grid view, or check the box in card view).
Click the Share option at the top of the page.
Follow the same pitch flow as above.
The Branded Resume (MPC / Spec CV)
When you pitch a candidate, Loxo generates a polished, branded resume that presents the candidate professionally while keeping your agency front and center. You control:
Which profile details are shared — toggle sections on or off before sending.
Resume format — send the Loxo branded packet or the resume on file.
Delivery method — send by email (composed in Loxo) or mark as pitched manually if you sent through another channel.
The branded resume displays your agency name as the header and your saved logo in the top right corner, maintaining consistent branding across every MPC send.
Managing Pitches
Pitch cards work the same way as Deal cards. From any Pitch card you can:
Log calls, meetings, emails, and follow-up notes
Create tasks and set reminders
Track rotting age to flag stalled pitches
View the candidate and client contact linked to the pitch
Assign or reassign an owner
Use the My Activity and All Activity views to see pitch progress across your team. Managers can see which candidates are being pitched, who is stuck in Following Up, and who is ready to convert.
When a Pitch Succeeds
When a client expresses interest in a pitched candidate, move the Pitch to the Successful stage. The typical next step is to create a Job on the ATS side and begin the recruiting and submission process.
Because the Pitch card is already linked to the client company and point of contact, spinning up a Job from a won Pitch carries that context forward — no re-entry required.
