Job Statuses are labels that track a Job's current state in your business pipeline. Job Status data informs your team's Loxo Reporting and can be used to quickly filter Jobs.
By default, Loxo includes two Job Statuses: Active and Inactive. Most of our customers prefer to add more context to their Job Pipelines and add to the default list of Job Statuses.
This article explains how to add new Job Statuses or delete existing Job Statuses, how to customize the list of Job Statuses, and how to use Job Statuses across your team.
Where to Manage Job Statuses
Note: You must be an Admin for your account to change the list of Job Statuses.
Follow the instructions below to manage the Job Statuses for your account.
Make sure you have the "Job" tab selected at the top. There are also statuses available for People and Companies.
How to Add a New Job Status
Admins can add a new Job Status to their Loxo account at any time by following the steps below.
Note: You must be an Admin for your account to add a new Job Status
From Settings > Statuses > Job (following the above instructions), click the blue "+ Add" button in the upper right corner.
A new field will populate, and you will be prompted to add the status name. If you leave this blank, the new status will disappear.
Click out of the text box to save the new status.
Use the stacked lines icon on the left to rearrange the order of the statuses. The order shown on this page will be reflected in the dropdown menu when you go to update the status of a Job.
Verify the "Default" checkbox is selected for the status you want to use when creating new Jobs (i.e., you Open or Active status).

Many of our customers use Job Statuses to drive their team KPIs and reporting. Proven practices show that the list below generates insight into performance while also maintaining simple, objective categories for team use.
Active
On Hold
Closed - Filled
Closed - Account Manager Decision
Closed - Canceled By Client
Closed - Lost to Competition or Client
Inactive
How to Delete a Job Status
Admins can delete a Job Status at any time by following the instructions below.
Note: You must be an Admin for your account to delete a Job Status.
Follow the above instructions to arrive at the Job Statuses page.
Click the red trash can icon for the Job Status you want to delete.
Click 'Delete' to confirm that you want to delete the Job Status.
How to Change the Job Status List
Admins can edit a Job Status or change the Job Status order at any time.
Note: You must be an Admin for your account to change a Job Status.
Follow the above instructions to access the Job Statuses page.
Type in the text field to change the name of a Job Status.
In the below example, the status "Closed - Placement" was changed to "Closed - Filled."
Use the stacked lines icon on the left to rearrange the order of the statuses. The order shown on this page will be reflected in the dropdown menu when updating the status of each Job.
