Questions About Costs with Loxo Boost
How do you determine cost-per-click/apply?
We buy clicks from certain job boards that only sell based on click pricing. The price is determined by the market price for that particular job in that location, in the same way that Google advertising works. The price per click can fluctuate depending on market conditions, job role, company, location, etc.
In the cases where we buy clicks from job boards, the price of the application is determined by the number of clicks that are received divided by the number of applications. E.g., 100 clicks at $1 resulted in 5 applies. The cost per apply would be $100/5 = $20.
We buy "applies" from a majority of job boards where we can track applications, and we pay the publisher for the completed application. The price is determined by the market price, in the same way that the click price is determined.
Do any of your boards cost money to post on?
Because of our partnerships, we only pay job boards for performance (clicks/applies), so we only pay them once they have delivered applications.
What is the average cost per click & cost per apply?
Over the past year, our cost per click has leveled out at around $1.02 per click. Interestingly, on a function-by-function basis, there seems to be very little variance.
Cost per apply varies greatly by job function, and historically, higher CPAs were reserved for jobs of higher wage and skill levels. However, there’s more to it than that. Consistently high-demand occupations (such as Healthcare, Transportation, Legal, and Education jobs) lead to higher CPAs.
When am I charged for a Boosted job?
You will be charged the day of, or the following day, that you choose to Boost™ a job. It is not a recurring fee, so if funds run out, you will need to initiate the process again. The payment is all up front and is non-refundable.
Can I set a monthly budget for using Loxo Boost™?
Yes! Account admins can set a team-wide, monthly budget for Boost™ under Settings > General. You may need to toggle off "Require Loxo Boost™ Approvals" to access the allowance, but you can set your total allotted amount for each month, across all boosted jobs, here.
