Create a Deal

Add a new Deal to your Sales Pipeline in Loxo

Once you've set up your Sales Pipeline under the Sales CRM page, you can add your specific opportunities to track your business development activities. This article walks you through the steps of adding new Deals to your pipeline. Check out our video tutorial below, or use the links to jump to step-by-step instructions and more information.


Create a Deal from the Sales CRM Page

You can create new Deals straight from your sales pipeline. To do so, navigate to the Sales CRM page and select the pipeline that you want to build out. You can switch between sales pipelines by clicking the list icon in the upper right:

  1. Click on the blue "+ Add Deal" button in the top right corner to create a new Deal Card.

  2. Enter the details for the new Deal.

    1. Add a Deal Name.

    2. Enter an amount, or the total value of the Deal.

    3. Add an Organization, or Company. Once you start typing, Loxo will recommend organizations you have saved under your Companies page.

    4. Choose a Point of Contact from that Organization. You can only have one main point of contact here, but you will be able to add more people to the Deal later. Note: the people you add as contacts on the Deal Card must be linked to the Company Record in your database.

  3. Choose 'Show advanced settings' to reveal additional options, such as:

    1. Select a different Pipeline. Note: you cannot move a Deal from one pipeline to another, so make sure the Deal is being added to the correct pipeline in your agency.

    2. Assign a team member as the Deal Owner.

    3. Set an Expected Close Date.

    4. Select a Starting Stage (the Deal defaults to start in the first stage of your selected Pipeline).

  4. Click 'Create Deal.'

Create a Deal from a Contact Profile

If you're working with key personnel within an organization, you can add a Deal directly from their contact profile. Follow the steps below to create a new Deal from a person's profile.

  1. From the People page or the Company record, open the person's profile you'll be using to create a Deal. You will be working from the Details section on the right-hand side.

  2. Scroll to the Deals section of their profile.

  3. Click the + button to add a new Deal.

  4. Enter the details for the new Deal.

    1. Add a Deal Name.

    2. Enter a Deal amount.

    3. Add an Organization. As you start typing, Loxo will recommend organizations saved under your Companies page.

    4. The "Point of Contact" will auto-populate as the person you are viewing.
      ​

  5. Choose 'Show advanced settings' to reveal additional options, such as:

    1. Select a different Pipeline.

    2. Assign a team member as the Deal Owner.

    3. Set an Expected Close Date.

    4. Select a Starting Stage (the Deal defaults to start in the first stage of your selected Pipeline).
      ​

  6. Click 'Create Deal.'


Create a Deal from the Company Page

As you are gaining qualified leads and interests with your prospective companies, you can easily make a Deal directly from the Company Record to track the business development process. To do so:

  1. Navigate to the Companies page and find the company you want to update.

  2. Click the company name to view their Company record.

  3. Click the blue + button in the top right corner and select "New Deal."

At this time, a New Deal modal will pop up, and you'll be able to fill out the information, such as the name and amount. If you are working with multiple sales pipelines, make sure to click the Advanced Settings button to select the pipeline that you are interested in connecting this Deal to. Once completed, click "Create Deal," and you'll have a new Deal added to your Sales Pipeline.
